5) Leon Bailey
Leon Bailey’s name has been regularly mentioned when possible replacements for Hazard are being talked about. And it isn’t very hard to figure out why if one watches Bailey running riot in the Bundesliga every now and then. The Jamaican has shown the potential and versatility to cement his place in the Leverkusen side. His ability to play on both flanks and even as a false no 9 makes him an ideal match for Sarri’s free flowing football.
No player has the kind of impact on their side like Zaha has on Palace. He just makes them look a completely different side from the one without him. Zaha’s tenacity and ability to take on the defenders makes him a perfect fit for Chelsea. Much has been talked about his failed move to Manchester United but at the moment, Zaha looks little like the young winger who could not make it big at one of the biggest clubs in the world. He has been on the Premier league clubs’ shopping list for a long time and the coming summer could finally culminate with Zaha in a Chelsea shirt.
3) Florian Thauvin
One of Ligue 1’s hottest property, Florian Thauvin has been banging goals for fun so far. Indeed he has scored 10 league goals for Marseille in just 11 appearances. Thauvin was a part of the impressive world cup winning side this past summer in Russia though could barely get a run in. Now 25, Thauvin is entering his prime and a move to Chelsea could benefit him in the long term. Chances of Marseille winning any major honour are bleak given PSG’s hegemony however, Chelsea on the other hand have been Premier league champions twice in last four seasons.
The Mexican sensation has been on everyone’s lips ever since he scored that goal against Germany in Russia which apparently caused a mini earthquake back in his homeland. He has kicked on from that moment and has been in fine form for PSV as well. Lozano showed his brilliance against Tottenham in the Champions league while in the league he has so far scored 10 goals while laid on a further 5. The only real problem for Lozano could be making the step up from Eredivisie to the Premier league, a step many players from the Dutch football have been unsuccessful in taking. Nevertheless, he is a player for the future and with the right conditions, he could excel in Hazard’s vacant position.
- Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial has finally returned to the levels this season everyone expected him to be at. Following some bust ups with Jose Mourinho, it looked like Martial would be better off leaving the club and if rumors are to trusted, he was indeed close to a departure from United this summer. However, he has forced his way back in the starting XI with some fine performances. He even went on a five game consecutive goal scoring streak. Martial could prove to be the perfect replacement for Hazard though, getting him off of United’s books will be a tedious task.
