Probably one of the greatest players of all time it is a real pity that Kaka had to endure so many injury problems leaving the football world to ponder what would have been the case had it been an injury free time for the Brazilian at Real Madrid especially if you consider the things he did at AC Milan. It was exemplified by winning the Ballon d’Or despite having Ronaldo and Messi as his competitors notably he remains the last player other then them to win the title. Back in 2009 when Kaka was moving to Real Madrid, it was Manchester City who wanted to make the Brazilian the flagship signing to mark their new era under the Qatari owners. It was even reported that City had prepared for a private jet to bring Kaka from Milan and even made an inconceivable offer but the B’razilian had his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
4) Gonzalo Higuain
The former Real Madrid striker has been imperious since moving to Italy. He became Serie A’s highest goal scorer with Napoli before joining Juventus where he continued his fine goal scoring run. With Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival this summer, it was evidently made clear that Higuain was surplus to requirements. There were reports linking him with a move to Chelsea and reunion with Maurizio Sarriin the process however he ended those rumours by signing with AC Milan. The Argentine later admitted to the interest from Chelsea however said that it was only Sarri whoactually wanted him at Stamford Bridge which was not the case with AC Milan where everybody wanted him and that motivated him.
3) Gianluigi Buffon
The legendary Italian goalkeepers spent majority of his career at Juventus before unexpectedly signing for PSG this summer. It was an investment done well by the old lady who had signed the Italian back in 2000s for the record free of 50 million at the time. The world cup winning goalkeeper later admitted in an interview that he was the subject of interest from various premier league clubs including Sir Alex’s Manchester United while he also claimed that Manchester City post their takeover had inquired about the Italian’s services.Perhaps if he could have moved to England his desire for winning Champions League title would have been come true. One of those things we will never find out.
2) Paolo Maldini
PaoloMaldini spent his entire career playing for boyhood club AC Milan in Italy where playing for rivals is no big deal as they say money talks in Italy. The centre back was embodiment of everything is Mialn stood for with his courage and bigger and leadership qualities. He won a staggering 25 titles with AC Milan and was a part of the Golden era.The Italian was the subject of interest from various Premier League clubs including Manchester United however Maldini claimed that his love for Milan was too much to reject those advances from the Premier League.
The Brazilian is the subject of interest from various clubs after winning the 2002 World Cup in Japan. At the time, Ronaldinho was a player still on the rise and after it was clear that he would be leaving PSG,the interest became even more concrete. A 30 million deal had been agreed with Manchester United who were out in the market for replacement for David Beckham who had left for Real Madrid. The deal was virtually completed before Sandro Rosell called Ronaldinho and asked him whether the Brazilian would like to play for Barcelona if he became the President. The Brazilian auickly accepted and the negotiations went smoothly. The rest is history.
