CIES Football Observatory have released their latest transfer fees update that have revealed Harry Kane as the world’s most expensive player.
The value is decided by the use of an ‘exclusive algorithm’ to work out players respective transfer fees and on Monday the latest CIES report declared the following about the Tottenham striker:: “following his new outstanding season, the Englishman is now worth €201.2 million (£176m).”
Neymar, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have all been pipped to the post ahead of the World Cup.
Paris Saint- Germain forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were ranked in second and third place and are said to be worth £171m and £163m respectively.
The following three places go to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi worth £161m, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah worth £150m and Spurs’ Dele Alli worth £149.8m.
The seventh most valuable player proved to be Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne worth £146m, with Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid valued as eighth, Paulo Dybala in ninth with £143.9m and Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku completing the list of the top 10 most valuable players worth £143.2m
As for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Real Madrid star is down in number 24 on the list. Ronaldo, 33, would costing £90.8m.
CIES report states:
In the top ten positions are players from six countries: England (Kane and Alli), Belgium (de Bruyne and Lukaku), Argentina (Messi and Dybala), France (Mbappé and Griezmann), Brazil (Neymar) and Egypt (Salah). With 16 players, France is the most represented country in the top 100.
Cristiano Ronaldo (24th, €103.4 m) is the oldest footballer listed, while Gianluigi Donnarumma (73th, €67.5 m) is the youngest one.
