Alexis Sanchez is ‘raging’ after being left out of the squad that played Young Boys on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Jose Mourinho also left Sanchez off the bench and afterwards the Manchester United manager Jose made it clear that his decision had nothing to do with injury and was based on form. The 29-year-old has only scored four goals since joining United last January – with just one goal this season against Newcastle at Old Trafford.
This is not the first time Sanchez has been excluded from the starting XI this season, with the 29-year-old having made only seven starts in nineteen games.
The relationship between the Chilean who joined Manchester United in January and Mourinho is said to now be at breaking point with the former Gunner intent on leaving and joining Ligue 1 Paris Saint Germain.
Reports suggest PSG are the firm favourites followed by a move to Spain’s Barcelona or Real Madrid. Arsenal are also in the running to resign Sanchez and are third favourites according to bookies.
Joe Dyer said: “PSG lead the chase for Sanchez ahead of the transfer window re-opening on January 1.
“The mega-rich French outfit are clear favourites in the Betfair betting at 3/1 with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid the nearest challengers at 8/1, and Arsenal considered 9/1 to re-sign the player who left them in the last winter transfer window.
“If a move back to north London seems unlikely, one thing is for sure – none of the leading trio would baulk at Sanchez’s immense pay packet as the Chilean seeks a move away from Old Trafford.”
If United lose Sanchez, Mourinho who is already looking to strengthen other areas of his side most notably central defence, will be looking for a long term approach to finding Sanchez’s approach.
